Why I do what I do:
Over the years I have had my eyes open to inequity in education. I believe that early education has the power to shape a child’s future and for this reason it is important to address any barriers that a student may face. As I have taught in kindergarten, first and second-grade classrooms I have discovered how important it is to offer individualized support along with whole group learning. How important it is that each student understands their value and purpose. That each and every day as a teacher I am seeking to see and reinforce the best in each student. Celebrating diversities, cultures and the individuals themselves. Fighting for equitable classrooms that will eventually extend to society as a whole.

Fun fact about me:
I'm the oldest of six kids.
